In this first post, you’ll visit our dynamic realtor duo in Racine: Kelly Jensen and Jenny Kortendick. They share a two-decade friendship, which makes their professional life as a team that much more rewarding.

Kelly spent her childhood in the ever-developing community of Kenosha until 1992 when she moved to Racine County to establish a life and future in real estate and property management.

Born and raised in Racine, Jenny fondly remembers dinners at local restaurants along Washington Avenue with her family and visiting Santa’s house in the heart of the West-Racine neighborhood. Why did you get into real estate?

Kelly: I’ve been in commercial and residential property management/real estate investing for the last 25 years. It seemed a logical decision to take the leap, get my license, and help others find their own investment property as well as homes for their families.

Jenny: I’ve been in property management for the last 8 years. I had acquired two investment properties within the past year and was tired of just the management part of it and wanted to

be on the bigger side of things. It was an easy choice making the decision with my long-time friend, co-worker, and teammate Kelly. It’s a good feeling to help someone with their dreams of owning property.

What makes you excited to get to work each day?

Kelly: Being in the property management business for this long, there’s never a dull moment. Recently starting my new career with my friend of 20 years and co-worker Jenny is

very exciting—we learn something new every day. The atmosphere of Doering&Co. is very motivating. Jenny and I look forward to collaborating on marketing ideas, lead generating, and helping people.

Jenny: When you work in real estate or property management, every day is different and exciting. It’s easy to come to work with my long-time friend, Kelly. I’m learning new things each day and meeting great people. Our Broker, Jeremy Doering, is very encouraging and always trying to help us succeed. There is something exciting about getting that sale and that all your hard work has paid off.  How are you different from other realtors?

Kelly: Well, just meet us! I think our experience in the industry and our teamwork makes us stand out. We have worked together for 20 years.  When you work with the “Kelly and Jenny Team,” you get the best of both of us. Jenny: Kelly and I have worked together for the last 20 years, so we know each other very well and work extremely well together. Many people find it very interesting that even after all that time, we still actually really do like each other! You get two of us for the price of one. Doering as a company also makes us different from other realtors due to the format and accountability of the performance platforms and standards they have.

If you could have a famous person (historical or current) over for a visit to your home, who would it be?

Kelly: This is very hard for me, as I don’t think there are any.  I’d much rather meet “regular”

people. I’m inspired by individuals with their own stories and accomplishments.

Jenny: This was hard for me, too. I’d like to pick more than one for different reasons for each, but at this time in my life I would like to have Teresa Caputo (Long Island Medium) over to my house. My family has experienced a very hard loss this year and maybe she could help us. What’s your favorite room in your home? Explain why.

Kelly: My favorite room is the kitchen. We have a large island where everyone gathers to eat and socialize. My family is always about the “more the merrier,” so we entertain a lot and
it’s always around the island in the kitchen. Good memories.
Jenny: The favorite is my kitchen/dining room. I love to cook and have downtime there with my family. We eat dinner as a family together here with no cell phone and no TV—just
conversation. At every get-together or party we have, it seems to be the place we all gather, talk, laugh, and just make memories. Now that you know a bit more about Kelly and Jenny, feel free to contact them for any of your
